'Careless whispers' represents a departure from my previous albums, both technically and aesthetically.

This is a fully analogue album. No computer was used until the final render. Tracks were recorded onto old reel to reel tape recorders and a Foxtex X-18 cassette portastudio, which was also used during the mixing process alongside vintage hardware and budget EQs, a compressor and effects units.

Aesthetically for this album, I relied much more on live instrumentation (guitar, bass, keyboards and some other acoustic instruments) and less on sampling techniques using the iPad.

'Careless whispers: leftovers, demos and un-erased failed takes. Vol 1’, is a collection of imperfect songs, with their rough edges unpolished on purpose.

The albums I create are a debate between myself and my practice and I look for sonic tidiness and a recording that preserves the ‘vibe’ of the moment in which it was produced, over the polished replica of that initial spark. Coming from the free improv field, I am almost always in favour of a document of that creative moment.

Listening wise this album requires, as Sigmund Freud said, and later on paraphrased by Brian Eno, some free floating listening; I'd say a hopeless listener abandoned as a flaneur through Lo-Fi and textural corridors.

Finally, the album download comes with a hidden bonus track that I will send you via email if you download the album; a tune that I have used for many years to conclude my live concerts in an absurd fashion.
